Pelle Arte manufactures their tiles using only the highest quality leather dyes for coloring. By using dyes instead of pigment finishes, as most leather tile manufacturers do, the natural beauty of the leather's grain is enhanced and accented. You wouldn't paint a fine grain wood; you would stain it to bring out it's character. Leather's grain includes distinct features such as variations in hair follicles, wrinkles, healed scratches and even some brand marks which are all part of the beauty and history of the hide from which the leather was produced. Please note that colors represented in the photos are close approximations and will vary based on different monitor settings. Also, because leather is a natural product, there are slight color variations from tile to tile and also within the tiles themselves. This is normal and is part of the overall appeal of this unique and beautiful product.
